Florida Golf Enthusiasts Tee-Off For Two Great Causes at the Second Annual Partners Golf Classic

Proceeds generated from event assist in Foundation’s mission and the Kiwanis Club of Miami Beach

Miami Beach, FL---As individuals prepared to get ready for work on Thursday, June 5th,  the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association kicked off its 2nd Annual Partners Golf Classic presented by the Boucher Brothers to benefit the Transplant Foundation and the Kiwanis Club of Miami Beach. Avid Florida golf enthusiasts shined their clubs in an effort to raise funds for two
“In what was a very hot, but lively turnout, this year’s tournament generated over much needed funds,” commented Eli Compton, Executive Director for the Transplant Foundation.
This year’s event was particularly special as golf professional and past tour player, Erik Compton was on-site to greet golfers as they prepared themselves to make their rounds across the links. Currently, Erik is recovering from his second heart transplant which he received a few weeks back and commented on how, “it’s great to see everyone out here today as they benefit two charitable causes.”  
In addition, well-known CBS 4 News Morning and Noon anchor, Cynthia Demos was on-site to assist with the auction bidding and awards presentation. Cynthia, a Miami native kicked off the presentation by thanking sponsors on-board and presenting Stu Blumberg, from the Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association with a gift in appreciation for his support and belief in the future of the Transplant Foundation and Kiwanis.

A total of 72 golfers, in teams of four, competed for the winning title in over 18 holes as volunteers provided on-site refreshments throughout the day. Entrance fee for the tournament started at $250 per individual, which included a lunch and buffet dinner, a best ball scramble tournament and a hole-in-one prize from BMW. Furthermore, individuals placed their bids in live and silent auctions that included coveted weekend getaways available throughout Florida.
