Love Was In the Air at  Taste of Love

Love must have been in the air, because the 600 movers and shakers at our Taste of Love event on February 2nd helped raise major funds all while celebrating love, life and transplantation.  Marky’s Caviar and Southern Wine and Spirits hosted the reception, which received rave reviews.  Miami Heat player and spokesperson for the “Donate organs. Pass it on.” specialty license plate, Alonzo Mourning, welcomed guests and talked about the importance of organ donation with his personal story. Starry, starry night was the theme and rightly so, as indoor fireworks shot out of the centerpieces to awe the crowd.  The Coconut Grove Ballet provided entertainment with a 20-minute performance, UnaLuna Boutique hosted a fashion show that was a treat for all and the Heat Band kept the party going!

Sally Turci won the $3,000 limited raffle grand prize. The live auction included both Caribbean and Mediterranean cruises aboard SeaDream Yacht Club, and a one-of-a-kind pair of Samuel Getz Starlight Earrings. Over 20 of South Florida’s premier restaurants and wineries provided their delicacies.  The eclectic mix provided sumptuous treats for any palette. Overall, the evening’s celebration never left the forefront of guests’ minds; everyone had fun and raised money for a cause that is close to our hearts.
